About Cathy

Certified public accountant turned cake artist Cathy Reppert launched Truly Scrumptious, LLC, in September of 2003. She is continually in demand and known throughout the region for her delicious creations and one-of-a-kind cakes for weddings, birthdays and other special occasions.

Cathy’s mother inspired her early talents in the kitchen by helping her bake cakes as a child, beginning at the tender age of eight. Later on, Cathy learned about cake decorating from notables like Kim Morrison, Elisa Strauss, Colette Peters, Ron Ben-Israel and Scott Clark Woolley. To further her skills, she also attended numerous demonstrations offered by the French Culinary Institute (Pastry Scoop.com) and the International Cake Exploration Society (ICES). She stays up-to-date on the latest trends through continuing education at various cake decorating classes and conferences.

Her cakes have been featured in American Cake Decorating Magazine, Mailbox, Happenings Magazine, Times-Leader and the Citizens Voice. She is also a member of ICES.

Her previous business experiences includes CPA work at several accounting firms, including Coopers and Lybrand in Philadelphia, regional firms and small local accounting firms in northeastern Pennsylvania.

Cathy holds a bachelor of arts in economics from Lafayette College and a master of business administration in accounting from Rutgers University. She holds a certified public accountant license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Cathy has been married to her sweetheart, David, since 1991. She is the proud mother of a daughter, Caroline. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, working out, music, reading cookbooks and wedding magazines for new ideas and of course, decorating cakes.
